Each April during National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center coordinates a community-wide Blue Ribbon Campaign. The blue ribbon is a national symbol of the need to protect our children. The purpose of this campaign is to raise awareness about child abuse and to generate support for programs and services to help victims. This year marks our 26th annual campaign, and we are so thankful for the continued support that our community gives to the children served through the CAC.
Bonnie Finley, a grandmother, made a personal commitment to stop child abuse when she tied a royal blue ribbon on the antenna of her car after her own 4-year-old grandson was killed at the hands of his mother’s abusive boyfriend. Little did she know the impact that this simple gesture would have on people and communities across the United States. Out of her tragedy and heartache emerged an outcry and thus began a National Blue Ribbon Campaign.
Last year, your Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center provided interviews to 354 children with new allegations of abuse. More than 1,400 victims of abuse received therapy, crisis counseling, and criminal justice support services. Child abuse is a problem that is too big for one person or one agency to solve. It takes an entire community working together to take a stand and speak out on behalf of our children. This is an opportunity for you to make a difference by partnering with the CAC and support the "Peace. Love. Hope." Blue Ribbon Campaign.
We would like to thank all of the sponsors who participated in CAC’s “Blue Ribbon Friday for Kids” t-shirt event this year. We couldn't do it without you. Our vision is to have a community where children are safe, families are strong and child victims become children again. You helped us bring awareness to the problems children endure when they are victims of abuse. All donations were used to help abused children in our local area. With your investment in the CAC, you are helping a child move from victim to survivor!
Our sponsor program for “Blue Ribbon Friday for Kids” has closed for this year, but we invite you help us make a difference through our, "Tee Off for Kids” golf tournament. Click below to learn more about this event how and you can become a sponsor.Learn more
